Philadelphia Flyers vs. Boston Bruins: Preview
Philadelphia has struggled to start the season and a big part of it has been the team's goaltending. The Flyers are yet to find an answer in net and coach John Tortorella reflected on the issue.
"I'm not sure, did we overachieve last year?" Tortorella said, via NBCPhiladelphia. "[Sean] Walker's gone, a number of different situations, the whole goaltending situation. Let's face it, we have a goaltending situation."
However, Tortorella believes the Flyers are better than what their record shows:
"We're young, we're rebuilding, we are going to take some gut punches. But we're better than this. Easy. We're going to get slapped around a little bit here. We are. We're just young."
Boston, meanwhile, has been good to begin the year and goalie Jeremy Swayman is starting to play much better. The Bruins have struggled at times, but there were plenty of changes to the team over the offseason so Boston is still trying to find the right chemistry.
Philadelphia Flyers vs. Boston Bruins: Odds & Prediction
Philadelphia is a +170 underdog, while Boston is a -205 favorite. The over/under is set at 6 goals.
The Flyers have struggled out of the gates and the goaltending has been an issue as Philadelphia can't keep the puck out of their net. Boston, meanwhile, is doing better at that end because of Swayman.
The Boston Bruins should be able to score multiple times and get a big win here.
Prediction: Bruins 4, Flyers 1.
