The Boston Bruins will face the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday in their fourth preseason game. With the regular season right around the corner, the team will be looking to bounce back from a loss against the New York Rangers on Tuesday before shifting their focus to the regular season.
The team announced its roster for the game ahead early Saturday morning. The roster notably included players hoping to secure spots on the final roster.
With the team working to trim down its roster and make final cuts before the start of the regular season, coach Jim Montgomery is reportedly rolling with a unique combination of lines that won't feature many of the team's longtime staples.
Bruins writer Joe Pohoryles of NHL.com relayed the team's lines for Saturday's game following a roster announcement earlier in the morning.

Looking at the 2024-25 preseason schedule for the Boston Bruins, as well as the schedule for the start of the regular season
Last year, the Boston Bruins ended the regular season with a 47-20-15 record that saw them finish second in the Atlantic Division behind the Florida Panthers. In the postseason, the team picked up a closely-contested Round 1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs over seven games before falling to the Florida Panthers in Round 2.
This year, the franchise hopes to find similar success during the regular season, while also setting its sights on a deep playoff run. After a busy offseason from GM Don Sweeney, the team opened their preseason slate with a 3-2 loss to the Rangers on Sunday.
The Bruins bounced back with a 4-2 win over the Washington Capitals on Tuesday before falling to the Rangers in a rematch on Thursday. Following tonight's preseason clash with the Philadelphia Flyers, the two teams will run things back on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
From there, the Bruins will play just two more preseason games, an Oct. 3 showdown with the LA Kings, and an Oct. 5 clash with the Washington Capitals.
They will then begin their regular season slate with a highly-anticipated game against the Florida Panthers on Oct. 8. The game will see two best teams in the Atlantic Division from the 2023-24 season fighting against one another.
