Quintin Hughes, born on October 14, 1999, is an accomplished American professional ice hockey defenseman and currently serves as the captain of the Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League (NHL). The Canucks selected Hughes as the seventh overall pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, recognizing him as a top prospect prior to the draft.

Before joining the NHL, Hughes excelled with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, showcasing his talent and dedication. He then continued his hockey journey at the University of Michigan during the 2017–18 season. During his time at Michigan, Hughes set a remarkable record for the most assists by a freshman defenseman and received accolades such as being named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team and the All-Big Ten Second Team.

Internationally, Hughes proudly represented the United States at the 2018 and 2019 World Junior Championships, demonstrating his commitment to excellence on the global stage.
