Tonight, the Detroit Red Wings will look to get back in the win column when they collide with the Florida Panthers in a divisional showdown. After narrowly missing the playoffs last season, Detroit has struggled to prove themselves as a true postseason threat this year.

The team is in seventh place in the Atlantic Division, five points ahead of the last-place Buffalo Sabres, and two points behind the sixth-place Montreal Canadiens.

On the flip side, the Panthers have picked up right where they left off last season, posting a 26-16-3 record that sees them jockeying for position with the Maple Leafs for first place.

Heading into tonight's game, Detroit will reportedly be without Tyler Motte, who isn't traveling with the team to start their road trip thanks to an upper-body injury.
