Ross Colton, born on September 11, 1996, in Robbinsville Township, New Jersey, is an American professional ice hockey player currently serving as a center for the Colorado Avalanche in the NHL. Known for his clutch performances and tenacity on the ice, Colton's journey began at Princeton Day School before transferring to Taft School in Connecticut. His promising junior career included a record-setting stint with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in the USHL, which earned him selection by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the fourth round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

After two strong seasons with the University of Vermont Catamounts, Colton signed with the Lightning. He won the Stanley Cup, scoring a goal in Game 5 of the 2021 Finals. In 2023, he joined the Avalanche where he continues to play.

Despite being unable to attend the game due to illness, she celebrated from home, wearing her son's jersey. Kelly’s encouragement and emotional connection were evident when she expressed her pride and joy after Ross scored the Stanley Cup-winning goal in 2021.

Ross Colton's older brother Robert has been a constant source of support and inspiration throughout his journey to the NHL. Growing up in New Jersey, the brothers shared a love for hockey and spent time fishing, playing golf, and enjoying other activities. Their shared experiences included playing on the same travel hockey team and later on the same high school team, where they won state championships together. The two brothers continue to share a close relationship and an apartment on the Jersey Shore. Robert Colton also shared his younger brother's determination and work ethic have always driven him to seize every opportunity.

Ross Colton was raised in the Catholic Church and incorporates his faith into his daily life and hockey routine. Before every game, he makes the sign of the cross, believing that God's blessing helps him on the ice. Colton credits his success, including a Stanley Cup win, to his faith and expresses gratitude for the opportunities he has been given.
