The San Jose Sharks, owned by San Jose Sports & Entertainment Enterprises, is a professional ice hockey team based in San Jose California. Moreover, they compete in the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL) as the members of the Pacific Division. Beginning play in 1991, the team was the first team in the San Francisco Bay Area since the California Golden Seals relocated to Cleveland in 1976.
Presently, boasting a talented roster consisting of Justin Bailey, Matt Benning, Alexander Barabanov, William Eklund, Ty Emberson, Mario Ferraro and Nico Sturm, the Sharks play their homes games at the SAP Center at San Jose. Prior to this they played at the Cow Palace before moving. The team is also notable for winning six division championships, a Presidents' Trophy and conference championships each.

San Jose Sharks Conference History
The San Jose Sharks presently compete in the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). Moreover, they started with the Campbell conference in their first two seasons before shifting to the Western Conference due to league relaignment. Notably, in the 2015-16 season, they went all the way to claim the Conference Championship for the first time in their history. They also proceeded to the Stanley Cup Finals that season, albeit losing to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the finals in a five game series. However, they werem't able to replicate that success the following season. They came close in the 2018-19 playoffs but lost to the St. Louis Blues in the conference finals.
