Shane Pinto

Shane Pinto is a center for the Ottawa Senators in the NHL and was drafted 32nd overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He started ice skating at seven and joined his first hockey team at nine. At 14, a clavicle injury during football practice led him to focus solely on hockey. Pinto played for the Brooklyn Aviators in minor hockey and later attended South Kent School, where he achieved a national championship.

Pinto entered the junior hockey scene by joining the Lincoln Stars in the USHL and then moving to the Tri-City Storm. He committed to playing college hockey for the North Dakota Fighting Hawks and impressed NHL scouts, leading to a three-year entry-level contract with the Ottawa Senators in April 2021. After debuting in the NHL and scoring his first goal in May 2021, Pinto faced injury setbacks during the 2021-22 season. He bounced back in the 2022-23 season with 20 goals but faced a 41-game suspension in 2023 for a gambling violation. He returned to the lineup after signing a one-year deal with the Senators in January 2024.
