
Steven Santini is an American professional ice hockey defenseman in the NHL. Born on March 7, 1995, in Bronxville, New York, he developed a passion for the sport early, playing at Brewster Ice Arena, which his family owns. Santini honed his skills with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program before starring at Boston College, where he earned All-Rookie honors and helped lead the Eagles to the Frozen Four.
Drafted 42nd overall by the New Jersey Devils in 2013, he made his NHL debut in 2016 and scored his first goal in his rookie season. Santini has since played for the Nashville Predators, St. Louis Blues, and Los Angeles Kings organizations, contributing in the NHL and AHL. In 2024, he signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning and now is a free agent as of 2025.

Steven Santini is the son of Sandra and Steve Santini. His grandfather, Bob Santini, was a pioneering figure in New York high school hockey, coaching at Mount Saint Michael Academy and founding the Catholic High School Hockey League as per NYtimes.
Steven’s father Steve Santini continued the family tradition, playing college hockey at the University of Maine. His uncle Rob Santini also played at a high level, competing for Iona College. Steve and Rob later established the Brewster Ice Arena in Brewster, New York. The rink became a central hub for young hockey players in the area and was where Steven developed his skills from a young age.
