Who was Tage Thompson traded for?

Tage Nathaniel Thompson is an American professional ice hockey center currently playing with the Buffalo Sabres in the National Hockey League. The St. Louis Blues selected Tage as the 26th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry draft.

Tage played collegiate hockey at the University of Connecticut with the team Huskies during the 2016-2017 season. After finishing the season, he signed a three-year entry-level contract with the St. Louis Blues on March 7, 2017. Soon, he joined the Blues' AHL affiliate team, the Chicago Wolves, for the 2016-2017 season.

The St. Louis Blues traded Tage to the Buffalo Sabres on July 1, 2018. In exchange, the Sabres sent Vladimír Sobotka and Patrik Berglund to the Blues as 2019 first-round draft picks and 2021 second-round picks. The key player of the trade was Ryan O'Reilly, whom Sabres sent to the Blues.

On October 5, 2020, Tage signed a three-year contract with the Sabres as a free agent. He continued to excel in his game with the Buffalo Sabres and had an incredible season with the Sabres.
