Jordan Greenway has found a new home in Buffalo. The former Minnesota WIld forward was traded in the final hour of NHL Trade Deadline Day for a second- and fifth-round pick. The former highly touted prospect has had a lackluster season, but there is still room for hope. WIth one of the youngest cores in the league, the Buffalo Sabres have time to properly develop Greenway into a contributor.

Here are three things that Buffalo Sabres fans can be excited about with the Jordan Greenway trade

#1 Greenway brings size and physicality to the Sabres lineup

Jordan Greenway is a big-bodied forward, standing at 6'6" and weighing in at 225 pounds. This makes him one of the largest players in the NHL, and his size and physicality make him a valuable asset on the ice. Greenway is known for his ability to win battles along the boards and in front of the net, and he's not afraid to throw his weight around to make plays happen.

This type of physical presence is something that the Sabres have been lacking in recent years, and Greenway's arrival should help make the team a more intimidating and difficult opponent.

#2 Greenway has untapped offensive potential

While Greenway's size and physicality are certainly his most noticeable attributes, he's also shown flashes of offensive talent throughout his career. In his rookie season with the Minnesota Wild, he scored 12 goals and added 12 assists in 81 games. While his offensive production has dipped in the years since then, there's reason to believe that he still has plenty of untapped potential.

Greenway is only 25 years old, and he's shown the ability to make skilled plays with the puck on his stick. If he can put it all together and develop more consistency in his offensive game, he could become a valuable scoring threat for the Sabres.

#3 Greenway fits the Sabres' rebuild timeline

The Buffalo Sabres are in the midst of a rebuild, and although the Sabres have had an exemplary record this season, there’s no pressure for them to go on a cup run this soon. One of the key components of that rebuild is acquiring young, talented players who can grow and develop together. Jordan Greenway fits that mold perfectly. He's only 25 years old, and he's still early in his NHL career.

By acquiring him, the Sabres are adding a player who can grow and develop alongside their other young players, such as Rasmus Dahlin, Dylan Cozens, and Casey Mittelstadt. If Greenway reaches his full potential, he could become a key piece of the Sabres' roster for years to come.

Jordan Greenway brings size and physicality to the Sabres lineup, has untapped offensive potential, and fits the team's rebuild timeline. While there's no guarantee that he'll reach his full potential, there's reason to believe that he could become a key contributor to the team in the years ahead. Sabres fans should be eager to see what Greenway can bring to the team, both now and in the future.
