Toronto Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs are an ice hockey team playing in the Eastern Conference of the NHL. Established in 1917, originally known as the Toronto Arenas, the team became the Toronto St. Patricks in 1919 before becoming the Maple Leafs in 1927 by new owner Conn Smythe. The Leafs have played their home games in three arenas, starting with the Mutual Street Arena for their first 14 seasons. In 1931, they moved to the iconic Maple Leaf Gardens, where they played for over 67 years. Since 1999, the team has been calling their home Scotiabank Arena.

With 13 Stanley Cup championships, the Maple Leafs are the second most successful team in NHL history behind only the Montreal Canadiens. The team experienced huge success between 1947-1951 and again from 1962-1967. However, they have experienced the longest Stanley Cup drought in NHL history since their last title in 1967. The Leafs have fierce rivalries with teams like the Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins, and Ottawa Senators. The team is affiliated with the AHL's Toronto Marlies and is owned by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. As of 2024, the team is all set to start their 107th regular season.

Toronto Maple Leafs Preseason Schedule

The schedule includes three home games at Scotiabank Arena and three road games, with visits to the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, the Bell Centre in Montreal, and Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. The preseason will conclude on October 5th with a home game against the Detroit Red Wings.

The Maple Leafs' regular season begins on Wednesday, October 9th, in Montreal against the Canadiens. Another major date to note is October 26th, when Toronto will face the Boston Bruins for the first time since their Game 7 elimination from the 2024 playoffs.
