The Toronto Maple Leafs and Minnesota Wild will compete in a cross-conference matchup on Sunday night. The Maple Leafs will look to wrap up a back-to-back after facing the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, while the Wild will want to build on a two-game win streak.

In their most recent outing, the Wild picked up a 5–3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning, building on a 5–3 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins earlier in the week. On the flip side, the Maple Leafs were on a two-game win streak before they clashed with the Blues on Saturday.

While the Maple Leafs are jockeying for positioning in the Atlantic Division with the Lightning, the Wild are sitting in second place in the Central Division with a 7-1-2 record and 16 points.

The 10-1-0 Winnipeg Jets, who have 20 points, sit ahead of them in the standings. Meanwhile, the Dallas Stars sit behind them in the standings with a 7-3-0 record and 14 points.

Fortunately for the Wild, Troy Gorsenick is the only player on their injury report. He has been on the not-rostered injured reserve list since early October. On the flip side, the Wild have several players sidelined, with Dakota Mermis and Calle Jarnkrok on long-term injured reserve.

In addition, Connor Dewar and Jani Hakanpaa are on assignment with AHL Toronto to work on their conditioning while working their way back to 100%.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs Minnesota Wild prediction

While both teams will be riding plenty of momentum into tonight's game, the biggest factor in Sunday's Maple Leafs vs. Wild game will be the schedules of both teams.

While Toronto will be coming off the first leg of a back-to-back on Saturday, the Wild will be fresh after an off-night on Saturday. Given that, and the fact that the team has posted a 7-1-2 record this season despite seven of their ten games being played on the road, look for the Wild to get a win on their home ice.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs Minnesota Wild odds

Heading into tonight's game, the Minnesota Wild are sitting as slight betting favorites on most major US sportsbooks. On DraftKings, the Wild are -120 favorites to win, while the Maple Leafs are +100 underdogs.

To simplify these odds, it would take a $120 bet on the Wild as the favorites to win $100, whereas a $100 bet on the Maple Leafs as the underdogs would win $100.

Of course, as always, these odds are subject to change between now and puck drop.
