The Toronto Sceptres is a professional ice hockey team based in Toronto, Ontario, and competing in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). They are one of the league's six charter franchises and play their home games at Coca-Cola Coliseum. Toronto Scepters had a strong start, finishing first in the inaugural regular season standings. They also set attendance records for several games, including the record-breaking "Battle on Bay Street" at Scotiabank Arena.
The team was founded in 2023, with Gina Kingsbury as the general manager and Troy Ryan as head coach. Toronto signed key players like Sarah Nurse and Jocelyne Larocque before their first season and later became the first team to clinch a playoff spot. However, they were eliminated after losing three consecutive games in the playoffs. After the season, forward Natalie Spooner won the Billie Jean King MVP award, and coach Troy Ryan was named Coach of the Year. In September 2024, the team was officially named the "Sceptres."
