On Tuesday, the Vancouver Canucks will head to Chicago for an inter-conference meeting with the Chicago Blackhawks. Vancouver will be riding the momentum of a two-game win streak into Tuesday night's contest after picking up back-to-back victories over the Florida Panthers and the Philadelphia Flyers last week.

On the flip side, the Chicago Blackhawks will be looking to bounce back from a 4-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. This returned the team to the loss column after a 4-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Thursday.

In the case of the Blackhawks, the team is sitting in sixth place in the Central Division with a 2-3-1 record, just ahead of the 2-4-0 Colorado Avalanche and the winless Nashville Predators.

On the other hand, the Canucks, who finished last season with the best record in the Pacific Division, are sitting in fifth place with a 2-1-2 record, just one point behind the fourth-place Vegas Golden Knights (3-2-1).

Ahead of Tuesday's game, both teams have a number of players sidelined with injuries. In the case of the Blackhawks, in addition to netminder Laurent Brossoit, rookie Artyom Levshunov and Alec Martinez, the team also has winger Pat Maroon listed as day-to-day after missing Saturday's game against Buffalo.

In the case of the Canucks, Thatcher Demko and Dakota Joshua are both on injured reserve. Starting center JT Miller is day-to-day but likely to play at the United Center on Tuesday.

Vancouver Canucks vs Chicago Blackhawks prediction

Ahead of Tuesday's game, the Vancouver Canucks haven't locked in a starting goalie yet. The expectation is that Kevin Lankinen, who has posted a 95.3% save percentage so far this season, will be in net. However, after two straight wins, the team could tap Arturs Silovs to start in his place.

Much of Tuesday's game will come down to the goalie battle. With Chicago starting Petr Mrazek, if the Canucks decide to roll with Silovs, Chicago will have the edge. If the Canucks decide to start Lankinen, expect them to get the job done against the Blackhawks on the road.

Vancouver Canucks vs Chicago Blackhawks odds

Ahead of Tuesday's clash between the Vancouver Canucks and Chicago Blackhawks, the Canucks are sitting as slight favorites on most major US sportsbooks. On FanDuel, the team is a -178 favorite, while the Blackhawks are +146 underdogs.

These odds are consistent with those seen on DraftKings, where Vancouver is a -185 favorite, while Chicago is a +154 underdog.

To simplify these odds, using the DraftKings odds as an example, a $185 bet on Vancouver as the favorite would win $100, whereas a $100 bet on Chicago as the underdog would win $154.
