The Vegas Golden Knights is a professional ice hockey team based in Paradise, Nevada, competing in the National Hockey League (NHL). It was established in 2017 as an expansion team. The Vegas Golden Knights has two minor league affiliations Henderson Silver Knights in AHL and Savannah Ghost Pirates in ECHL.

The broadcasting rights are held by KMCC (TV) and KKGK (Fox Sports 1340/98.9). The Vegas Golden Knights is owned by Black Knight Sports and Entertainment and Adrienne Maloof. Bill Foley, lead investor and CEO of Black Knight Sports & Entertainment has the majority share of the Golden Knights.

They are led by general manager Kelly McCrimmon, and head coach Bruce Cassidy with Mark Stone captaining the team. In 2023, the franchise made its name in the NHL by achieving its first Stanley Cup championship over the Florida Panthers in a game series.

In 2012, MGM Resorts International proposed a new, leading partnership between MGM and AEG in March 2013 for the construction of T-Mobile Arena.

The construction of the Arena began on May 1, 2014, and it finally opened its doors on April 6, 2016. Skilled firms like Populous and Thornton Tomasetti took responsibility for the project, ensuring everything was executed well. T-Mobile US's acquisition of naming rights in January 2016, showing the significance of of arena. The total cost of the entire project was $375 million.
