Vladimir Andreyevich Tarasenko is a Russian professional ice hockey right winger playing with the Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League, as of 2024. He was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the 16th round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Before the NHL, Tarasenko professionally played in the Kontinental Hockey League during the 2008-2009 season with the Sibir Novosibirsk where he earned recognition as a runner-up for the Rookie of the Year.

Tarasenko started with the St. Louis Blues in the 2012-2013 season and scored his first two NHL goals in his debut game against the Detroit Red Wings. Due to his performances, he earned the NHL's Rookie of the Month for January. His historic goal on a penalty shot in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals was a memorable moment of the championship. His contribution helped the Blues reach the second round of the 2022 NHL playoffs. Tarasenko was traded to the New York Rangers in February 2023.
