Warren Foegele is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who plays for the Los Angeles Kings in the NHL as of 2025. Born on April 1, 1996, in Markham, Ontario, he was selected 67th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Foegele played at St. Andrew’s College before committing to the University of New Hampshire. However, he later transitioned to the OHL, playing for the Kingston Frontenacs and Erie Otters, where he won the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award as playoff MVP in 2017.

After turning pro, he debuted with the Hurricanes in 2018. In 2021, he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers and as a free agent in 2024, he signed a three-year deal with the Kings.

Warren Foegele’s parents are George and Leslie Foegele. He grew up in Markham, Ontario, alongside his older brother Reese who first introduced him to hockey. Watching his brother play inspired Warren to join in, even if it meant starting as the goalie during road hockey games.

"Just being the younger brother that got beat up, basically," Foegele joked about his early hockey days in an interview with NHL.com.

Warren Foegele's family still living in Markham. He frequently visits them in the summer and spends time at their family cottage in Muskoka. Despite his busy NHL schedule, Foegele values staying connected with his loved ones.

When Foegele made his NHL debut with the Carolina Hurricanes, his parents, brother, and girlfriend were in attendance to witness his milestone moment. Scoring his first career goal in his very first game made the night even more special for both Foegele.

“It was a pretty surreal moment itself; something I’ll remember forever,” Foegele said as per Triangle Sports Network.
