Connor McDavid, a forward for the Edmonton Oilers, and his girlfriend, Lauren Kyle, chose to build their dream home when they were unable to find what they were looking for on the market. The decision to build their house came after McDavid signed an eight-year contract extension with the Oilers in 2017, and the couple began to take their house-hunting efforts more seriously.
The three-story house is being constructed near Edmonton's North Saskatchewan River Valley. The house sits on a spacious corner lot and boasts a large front porch, a three-car garage, and a beautifully landscaped backyard. The house features over 6,400 square feet of living space and includes five bedrooms and six bathrooms, providing plenty of space for Connor McDavid and his family.
"There's not a ton of ornate detail. It's very contemporary and at the same time has a little bit of traditional influence," Kyle, the interior designer of the house, said in an interview.
The second level of the house is where the bedrooms are located, including the spacious master suite, which features a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a separate tub and shower. The other bedrooms each have en-suite bathrooms and plenty of closet space.
The basement of the house is fully finished and includes a large recreation room, a home theater, a gym, and a bar area, perfect for entertaining friends and family.
One of the standout features of the house is the backyard, which is a true oasis. The backyard includes a large deck, a covered patio, and a beautiful outdoor kitchen with a built-in BBQ. The yard is also beautifully landscaped with lush greenery, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.
