When Elisha Cuthbert had to glue her lips for a scene in House of Wax

Elisha Cuthbert is a model and actress from Canada. She became famous as Kim Bauer in the television series 24 (2001), Danielle in the teen comedy film The Girl Next Door (2004), and Carly Jones in the horror remake House of Wax (2005). The magazine Glam'Mag named her the sexiest actress in the world in 2015. She was named the "Beautiful Woman of American Television" in 2013.

Elisha Cuthbert, who has been acting since she was a teenager, began by reflecting on her time as a member of Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid Of The DarkMidnight?'s Society. She joined the show in 1999 when it was rebooted (for the first time) with a second generation of campfire storytellers.

“It felt like kids camp,” she recounts, talking about weeks of filming in the show’s artificial, indoor forest and its semi-real campfire.

Elisha Cuthbert then discussed her most well-known horror role, playing the protagonist in Jaume Collet-2005 Serra's remake of House Of Wax.

"That whole town was built out in Australia for I don't even know how much money it was," Cuthbert said of the film's look and production design. "But it was a real, legitimate town made of wax. The facade in and of itself. It was impossible for me to believe."

She then spoke about the iconic moment when her lips had to be glued shut:

"We couldn't figure out how to do the lip gluing without looking silly. I had to be tense and fight for my life, but I had to find a way to keep my mouth shut. So it just wasn't working and I finally said to the prop guys, 'Just get the glue. Just get the genuine glue.' So we ended up gluing my lips together."
