Winnipeg Jets General Manager
Kevin Cheveldayoff has been the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Winnipeg Jets since June 8, 2011, according to the official website of the NHL. He has guided the franchise through 13 seasons, achieving a winning record in 11 of them and reaching the Stanley Cup Playoffs in six of the past seven. Under his leadership, the Jets reached their first Western Conference Final in 2018 and set a franchise record with 52 wins that same season.
Cheveldayoff was drafted 16th overall by the New York Islanders in 1988 and played five professional seasons as a defensive defenseman before a knee injury ended his career. He played junior hockey with the WHL’s Brandon Wheat Kings, collecting 81 points and 759 penalty minutes. He later moved into hockey operations roles with the Denver and Utah Grizzlies, adding two more championships to his résumé.
