Owned by True North Sports & Entertainment, the Winnipeg Jets are based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and compete in the Central Division of the Western Conference as part of the National Hockey League (NHL). Remarkably, they were establishedas the Atlanta Thrashers and were based in Atlanta but relocated to Winnipeg amid ownership changes. However, in both their iterations the team has failed to pass the expectations and have largely performed hot and cold. Nonetheless, their home games are played at Canada Life Centre, in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The only solace have been their performances in the recently concluded 2023-24 season, the 2017-18 and 2020-21 seasons, where they punched about their wight and reached the playoffs only to lose in the further rounds. Despite this, they enjoy a loyal fanbase and are led by the standout captain Adam Lowry. In addition to him, Kevin Cheveldayoff currently serves as the general manager and Scott Arniel serves as the head coach of the team.

Winnipeg Jets Draft Picks Year on Year

The Winnipeg Jets have picked standout players from the NHL drafts over the years. This includes Mark Scheifele, Adam Lowry, Josh Morrissey, Andrew Copp, Kyle Connor, Nikolaj Ehlers, Patrik Laine, Logan Stanley, Ville Heinola, Kristian Vesalainen, Rutger McGroarty, Brad Lambert, Chaz Lucius, Cole Perfetti, and Colby Barlow.

In the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, the Winnipeg Jets selected several promising players. They chose Colby Barlow, a left winger from the Owen Sound Attack (OHL), with the 18th overall pick in the first round. In the third round, they picked right winger Zach Nehring from Shattuck St. Mary's (U.S. High School). The fifth round saw the Jets selecting two players: left winger Jacob Julien from the London Knights (OHL) and goaltender Thomas Milic from the Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL).
