Zach Parise

Zach Parise is a former American professional ice hockey left winger who played in the NHL for 19 seasons. Born on July 28, 1984, he played for several teams, including the New Jersey Devils, Minnesota Wild, New York Islanders, and Colorado Avalanche. Parise led the Devils as captain to the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals, where the Los Angeles Kings defeated them. He is the son of the late Jean-Paul Parise, a notable NHL player who represented Team Canada in the 1972 Summit Series. Zach Parise had an outstanding college hockey career at the University of North Dakota and was drafted 17th overall by the Devils in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Internationally, Parise helped Team USA to a silver medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Additionally, he served as captain for the 2014 Olympic team.

Zach Parise NHL Teams

Zach Parise played for a total of four NHL teams throughout his career. He started with the New Jersey Devils where he played from 2005–2012. In 2012, he joined the Minnesota Wild where he played until 2021. In 2021, he was a member of the New York Islanders till 2023 and in the 2023-2024 season, he played for the Colorado Avalanche. Parise announced his retirement in 2024 after the 2024 playoffs.

New Jersey Devils

Parise debuted with the New Jersey Devils during the 2005-2006 season. His journey with the Devils was notable as he led the team to the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals where they lost against the Los Angeles Kings. Parise scored his first-ever playoff goal in 2006. In 2008, he was named the alternate captain of the Devils. He was his best 2008–09 season where he finished fifth in the NHL scoring with his impressive 94 points. He earned a spot in the 2009 NHL All-Star Game and in the same year, he was nominated for the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy. He became the MVP of the team in both the 2008–09 and 2009–10 seasons.

Minnesota Wild

Parise started his journey with the Minnesota Wild, signing a 13-year $98 million contract. He was named as an alternate captain of the Wild too where he helped the team reach multiple Stanley Cup playoffs. In 2006, Parise scored his 300th career NHL goal in the Wild. On February 7, 2020, he played his 1,000th NHL game, reaching another milestone.

New York Islanders

In 2021, he joined the New York Islanders, contributing 35 points in his first season. In 2022, he scored his 400th career goal in February. Parise reached 20 goals for the 11th time in his career during the 2022–23 season with the NY Islanders.

Colorado Avalanche

His time with the Colorado Avalanche was only one season long. In 2024, he announced his retirement at the end of the season. On May 17, Parise played his final game in the NHL.
