Buium's family background is deeply connected to sports, as evidenced by his older brother, Shai, who is a college ice hockey player at Denver. Shai was also drafted 36th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. Furthermore, his mother, Miriam, had a distinguished career in professional basketball in Israel before an injury led her to transition into a role as a general manager.
