Griffin Colapinto is an American Olympic surfer who is easily one of the top surfers in the World. He was born on July 29, 1998, and was raised in San Clemente, California which is an area known for surfing. Colapinto started surfing at a young age and first entered competitive surfing in the 2011 Men’s Junior season at the age of 13.

In 2015, he secured a first-place finish at the Junior Men's US Open of Surfing, showcasing his potential and talent on the national stage. The very next year, during the Qualifying Seres Heat at the Hawaii Pro, he pulled off a stunning last-minute air-reverse trick that secured him a dramatic victory. This instance was highly revered and talked about by surfing experts and enthusiasts.

In 2021, his performance earned him the Top 10 rankings at the season's end. The following year Colpainto won the MEO Pro Portugal and Surf City El Salvador Pro. Moreover, he finished the 2022 season ranked seventh in the world. In 2023, his performances in the season gave him the second place in the overall WSL Championship Tour Standings which made him qualify for the Rip Curl WSL Finals held at his hometown Dan Clemente.
