Four-time national Golden Glove Champion Morelle McCane was born on January 20, 1995. She most recently made history as the first female boxer from Cleveland, Ohio, to qualify for the Olympics, winning a silver medal at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago. As a senior at Glenville High School, she began boxing at the age of 17 with her niece at a local gym.
McCane placed second at the 2018 Elite National Championships, won the Western Elite Qualifier, and took home the first National Golden Gloves of 2018. Terrence Montgomery and Marlon "Push" Davis of the Bob Davis Boxing Club are her coaches.
McCane finished third at the Strandja Tournament after taking first place in the 2019 Last Chance Qualifier. She finished second at the U.S. Olympic Trials and won the 2020 USA Boxing Elite National Championships. She also took home the 2020 and 2022 USA Boxing Elite titles, the 2022 National Golden Gloves, and other wins.
