Ariarne Titmus recently opened up about the reason behind her unbelievable success in the pool. The 24-year-old swimmer mentioned in a conversation with ABC Australia:

"I think that unless you're in high performance sports striving for something like an Olympic gold medal, you can't really comprehend the work it takes and the trade-offs you make in your life. It takes a lot of work. I train between 35 and 40 hours a week. Every decision you make in your life is to ensure that you're recovered and ready to go for every session."

Titmus further mentioned that nothing is possible without hard work and belief in yourself. She added:

"I want people to realise that no matter where you come from, whether you're male or female, whatever religion, race, that if you have a goal, if you have a dream, if you want to start something new, if you want to make change for the better, you can certainly achieve whatever you like, if you are willing to work hard and you believe in yourself.”

Ariarne Titmus is the long-course world record holder in the women's 200m and 400m freestyle events. One of the chief competitors of American swimming legend Katie Ledecky, Titmus won two gold medals and two silver medals at the Paris Olympics. The Australian won gold medals in the 400m freestyle and the 4x200m freestyle relay events, while she clinched silver medals in the 200m and the 800m freestyle events, respectively.
