Ariarne Titmus recently reflected on a milestone-filled 2024, sharing highlights from her extraordinary year. Beyond her professional achievements, she gave fans a glimpse into her personal life through photos on social media.

The year has been transformative for the Australian swimming champion. The 24-year-old celebrated her Olympic success in Paris where she secured two gold and as many silver medals. Her accomplishments also earned her recognition in prominent publications, including features in Stellar, Forbes' 30 under 30, The Weekend Australian Magazine, and Marie Claire.

Taking to Instagram, the Olympic gold medalist shared her most cherished moments of 2024, pairing reflections with a caption that read:

"Monumental year ✨ the most busy, successful, and happy I’ve been ❤️."

The world champion had participated in the 2024 Australia Olympic Trials in the 50m event, where she set a world record. During the Paris Games in August, she further cemented her legacy by setting an Olympic record. Additionally, she was named the event ambassador for the 2024 Melbourne Cup in horse racing.

Ariarne Titmus is a nine-time World Championships medalist and a four-time medalist at the 2018 World Short Course Championships. Her career includes seven Commonwealth Games gold medals and one bronze, making her an eight-time medalist in the competition.

Following her record-breaking performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Ariarne Titmus spoke with olympics.com and shared her emotions about securing four medals. She described her Paris achievements as a source of pride and relief, highlighting how they elevated her Olympic career tally to eight podium finishes and recorded her legacy in the sport.

Reflecting on her performance in Paris, Titmus said:

"Oh, I just feel so relieved. Four medals from four events and especially defending my title in the 400 felt very special." (0:21 onwards)

The legendary swimmer also discussed the mental and emotional challenges of competing at the highest level, describing pre-race nerves as one of the toughest aspects of swimming. She emphasized the difficulty of managing the emotional strain of consecutive events, noting the importance of quickly moving from one race to the next.

"The nerves come up when you're in competition mode, they're the most nervous points in your swimming. When you feel those pre-race butterflies and jitters, and even once you're in the water racing, it takes a while for them to dwindle away. (1:35 onwards)," Ariarne Titmus added.

Titmus also praised the broader achievements of Australian women in sports, celebrating the continued success of her compatriots. She expressed pride in being part of a movement that exemplifies the strength and resilience of female athletes on the global stage.
