Hunter Woodhall penned a heartfelt note to his wife Tara Davis-Woodhall, expressing his desire to travel the world with her. The couple has been basking in the glory of their debut Olympic golds at the 2024 Summer Games.
Woodhall won his debut Olympic gold in the 400m T62 at the Paris Paralympics while his wife Tara Davis-Woodhall took the long jump gold at the Paris Games. Both were present to cheer their significant other as they competed on the global stage in Paris. Following that, the Woodhalls engaged in brand campaigns and attended various events, including the GQ Men of the Year.
Tara then shared that she was ready for a new career move - the assistant track and field coach of K-State Univerisity, appointed by her coach Travis Geopfert. Having shifted from Arkansas to Kansas, the Woodhalls started training in anticipation of the 2025 track season.
Amid track training, they also traveled to a couple of places to attend musical shows, brand shoots, or beach getaways, among others.
Sharing a mirror selfie on his Instagram story on Tuesday, January 14, Hunter revealed that the couple visited four states in five days, expressing how he loves to tour the world with his wife.
"4 states in 5 days. I love seeing the world with you. Happy to be going back home."
Tara Davis and Hunter Woodhall met at the track meet, Simplot Games, in 2017, when the former walked up to the Paralympian and offered a hug.
The couple has also navigated the challenges of a long-distance relationship, eventually tying the knot in 2022.
Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall talked about how social media helped them find financial stability
When Tara Davis and the Paralympian started their relationship in 2017, they were clear that social media could bring them money to fulfill their dreams since track and field don't pay enough.
Explaining how they started to Noah Lyles and Rai Benjamin in Beyond The Records podcast, Hunter said:
"We’re in non-money-making events. Women’s long jump, Paralympics—it’s like zero dollars. We knew from the beginning that if we wanted to live the life we dreamed of, we’d have to find another way to make it happen.” (8:42)
Tara then talked about how they started small on social media and eventually found success better than the track.
"We were finding more financial stability through social media. That gave us the freedom to focus 100% on our sport and chase our goals.”
She then gave a shout-out to their inspiration and fellow US Olympian, Ilona Maher, saying:
"She is the algorithm. She is Instagram.” (18:12)
Tara Davis-Woodhall is looking to compete at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo while Hunter Woodhall will take the track at the Para Athletics World Championships in New Delhi.
