Shot put legend Ryan Crouser has just announced his engagement to his girlfriend and former pole vaulter Megan Clark. The Olympic champion took to his Instagram to announce the same.
Crouser uploaded a couple of photos with his fiance, whom he proposed on a yacht. The post on Instagram was captioned,
"She Said Yes!!! 💍 Thank you Trentino, Lake Garda will always have a special place in our hearts. #engagement #lakegarda"
The carousel featured various snippets from the proposal, and in the third photo, Clark is seen posing with the engagement ring along with Crouser. In an interview with The News Tribune, Crouser thanked Clark for her contribution during the Paris Olympics, as he mentioned,
".....She's at an exciting time, as well, but she's also been hands-on in the journey in that she's helped me as a physio."
Crouser ended his 2024 season as the runners-up at the Wanda Diamond League 2024 finals, which were held in Brussels, Belgium. The American shot putter lost the Diamond League trophy by just 19 centimeters to the emerging shot put sensation from Italy, Leonardo Fabbri.
Who is Ryan Crouser's girlfriend, Megan Clark?
Ryan Crouser's fiance Megan Clark is a student at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She initially used to represent the USA in the women's pole vault until her retirement in 2021.
However, that’s not all. Clark has been a multiple ACC Champion, and her success at the NCAA Championships and USATF Outdoor Championships has been instrumental in paving the way for her successful athletic career.
In an interview with Us Weekly only a couple of weeks after the Paris Olympics, Crouser talked about the importance of Clark in his life.
“She's been with me every step of the way. I feel so blessed to have her in my life. It can be difficult as a professional track and field athlete, just with the time demands and the sacrifices. You can't go out on a Friday night or a Saturday night. She understands the commitment,” said the Olympic champion. [via The News Tribune]
Apart from her career as a pole vaulter, Clark completed her graduation in economic geology from the University of Western Australia. The 30-year-old further obtained a doctorate in economic geology from Queen's University.
Ryan Crouser did the impossible by winning the Olympic gold medal for the third consecutive time at the Paris Olympics. He threw the shot to 22.90 m in his third attempt to claim the Olympic gold medal for the third consecutive time since his Olympic debut at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Crouser's teammate Joe Kovacs won the silver medal, while Jamaican shot-putter Rajindra Campbell won the bronze medal.
