"One day, I posted a selfie with the caption ‘Attention'" - Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone reveals how husband Andre Levrone slid into her DMs

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, who dominated the 400-meter hurdles at the Paris Olympics, opened up about how her husband, Andre Levrone, approached her. She unveiled this fact about her relationship in her book, 'Far Beyond Gold: Running from Fear to Faith.'

McLaughin-Levrone met the former NFL wide receiver through a mutual friend, and then, after conversing on social media, they dated for a year. She opened up about the commencement of their relationship with her husband in the book, where she revealed how she was approached by him on social media.

It all started with her posting a selfie, followed by Andre Levrone sliding into her DMs. Her caption for the post, which said, 'attention', captured the attention of the NFL star. (as quoted by People).

"One day, I posted a selfie with the caption ‘Attention,’ a reference to a song I’d been listening to," McLaughlin-Levrone wrote.

She further wrote that she "wasn’t trying to get" the former athlete's, "or anyone else's," attention with the photo and was just being a little creative. Just a day after this post, when the athlete checked her phone, she received a message from Levrone that read:

"You have my attention. How can I get yours?"

The couple got married in May 2022 at Early Mountain Vineyards in Madison, Virginia. The American hurdler revealed that she knew that her husband was the one for her just days after meeting him and was 100% sure by their third date.

McLaughlin-Levrone's husband has always been supportive of her and he proved his support for her with a heartfelt post after her Paris Olympics exploits.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone delivered exceptional performances at the 2024 Paris Olympics, clinching two gold medals. The 25-year-old broke her own world record in the 400-meter hurdles and clocked a time of 50.37s.

She trounced Anna Cockrell and Femke Bol, who claimed second and third place, respectively. Along with this, she also won a gold medal in the 4x400m relay event.

Following her triumphs in Paris, Andre Levrone shared a post for the athlete, which carried several pictures and videos of them. He penned a heartfelt note in the caption, where he called her an 'excellent woman':

"Class. Grace. Faith. Beauty. Humor. Strength. Intelligence. Compassion. Tenacity. Diligence. Discipline. Style. Whit. Athleticism….. you truly do possess it all my love. It has given me great joy to walk & work alongside you each day this season. What an excellent woman, wife, & champion you are!!! I love you eternally ❤️"

He added:

"An excellent wife is the crown of her husband.” -Proverbs 12:4"

After shining at the Paris Olympics, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone celebrated her 25th birthday with Andre Levrone in Greece.
