Ryan Murphy ecstatic after qualifying for his third consecutive Olympic Games in Paris  following dominance in the 100m backstroke

Ryan Murphy qualified for his third consecutive Olympic Games after establishing sheer dominance in the Men's 100m backstroke at the U.S. Swimming Olympic Trials. The American swimmer won the Men's 100m backstroke after clocking a time of 52.22s.

Ryan Murphy qualified to be part of the U.S. Olympic team for the third time in his career. After missing the qualification mark by a minute margin in the London Olympic trials, the American swimmer has consistently put forward incredible performances over the years gaining his spot among the top American swimmers.

Previously, Murphy won three medals at the Tokyo Olympics out of which he had one gold as a part of the U.S. 4x100 m medley relay team, which set the world record. Upon his qualification for a third Olympic Games, the American swimmer was ecstatic and took to Instagram to express his happiness.

He shared two pictures from the Olympic trials, one at the victory podium and the other of him signing the Paris Olympics qualification poster.

"Ecstatic to make a third Olympic team! Team USA will be ready to rock in Paris!" read the caption.

He received great praise from the swimming world for his consistent performances over the years and for qualifying for the Paris Olympics.

Ryan Murphy opened up about qualifying for his third consecutive Olympic games in a post-race interview. The former Olympic gold medalist spoke about competing at the 2024 U.S. Olympic trials as well as the competition among the top American swimmers in a quest for a spot in the U.S. Olympic team.

" Absolutely, I enjoyed it more than I used to. I used to feel that I was going to throw up before I could race. But now, I can take a little bit more," he said.

Furthermore, he spoke about the people who supported him throughout this journey as well as played an important role in his success.

" My family, my wife, my brother right here. He is a sounding board for me on so many different issues. Dave Durden has been with me for you know, over a decade now, and I think i have a great physical therapist as well. She helps me stay healthy," he added.

Ryan Murphy would be one of the top contenders for the Olympic title in Paris.
