Oliver Bub is an American professional rower and an Olympian. Born on April 16, 1998, he is a native of Westport, Connecticut. Growing up, Oliver was influenced by his parents who rowed. His father is from Germany and relocated to the USA during his early years. Oliver's father and mother both participated in rowing at Boston University where they met.

Oliver attended Dartmouth College, where he majored in economics and competed in rowing. His other achievements include winning gold in the pair event at the 2023 U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Rowing Trials and securing bronze medals in the pair event at both the USRowing National Selection Regatta and the USRowing Winter Speed Order.

In 2021, he achieved gold in both the pair and four events at the USRowing Summer National Championships.

Oliver comes from Westport, Connecticut, he attended Staples School. In an interview, Oliver recalled his early days stating he grew up surrounded by athletes his father used to host at his home. The early life experiences impacted him and he started rowing.

Oliver attended Dartmouth College where he competed in the men's heavyweight rowing team. As a freshman, he helped his team win the Green Monster Regatta and placed sixth at the Eastern Sprints.

In his sophomore year, he rowed in the first varsity boat, winning races against Columbia and MIT, and finished second at the Eastern Sprints and third at the IRA Regatta.

In his junior year, he competed in the Championship 8+ at the Head of the Charles, finishing 19th. In his final year, Oliver was placed third at the Head of the Charles and was invited to the Under 23 National Team Selection Camps.
