Alyssa Thomas is a professional WNBA player for the Connecticut Sun in the Power Forward position. She was drafted 4th overall in the 2014 WNBA Draft by the New York Liberty but was immediately traded to the Connecticut Sun. Before entering the WNBA, Thomas had already cemented her status as a basketball star by holding the all-time scoring record (2356 points), rebounds (1235) as well as double-doubles (66) for her college, the University of Maryland. She is also one of three athletes in NCAW history with 6 triple-doubles. Continuing that trend, she has recorded 15 triple-doubles in the WNBA as of January 2025.
Thomas is a 5-time WNBA All-Star (2017, 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2024), and also made her 1st All-WNBA 1st team selection in 2023. She was also part of the All-Rookie team in 2014. She is also a rebound champion (2023) and also won the WNBA steals leader title (2020). She has made the WNBA All-Defensive 1st teams twice and four times, she was named to WNBA All-Defensive 2nd teams (2017, 2019, 2022, 2024).
