Mist BC, led by Unrivaled co-founder Breanna Stewart, faced the Angel Reese-led Rose BC on Saturday at the Wayfair Arena in Miami, Florida.
Lexie Hull came off the bench to lead Rose to its first Unrivaled win with 19 points. Stewart and Mist dropped its fourth game this season, 71-66.
Kahleah Cooper scored 18 points for Rose, while Azura Stevens had 16 off the bench. Reese finished with four points and six rebounds in eight minutes of action.
Stewart led her team with 20 points and nine rebounds. She was one rebound shy of her fourth double-double performance this season. He recorded three straight double-doubles in Mist's first three games. On Saturday, "Stewie" also had two assists, two steals, and a block on 10-for-18 shooting (0-3 from the 3-point line).
Heading into the game, both teams searched for their first victory and were at the bottom of the standings. Rose is 0-2, while Mist is 0-3 after losing 74-69 the previous night against the Phantom BC. Mist remains at the bottom after the loss to Rose.
Stewart, a three-time WNBA champion, started the game for coach Phil Handy alongside Rickea Jackson and the returning Jewell Loyd. Loyd missed Friday's loss to Phantom due to injury, while DiJonai Carrington was out for the second straight game. On the other end, Reese started the game with Cooper and Chelsea Gray.
In the first quarter, the returning Loyd knocked down the game's first basket. Then, Stewart scored 10 straight points for Mist, who trailed 22-19 after one quarter. Stewart also added three rebounds and a steal on 5-for-7 shooting. Mist had seven assists on nine baskets, which is a welcome sight for a team at the bottom of the league in assists per game.
On the other end, Hull had eight points off the Rose bench.
In the second quarter, Stewart recorded four points, two rebounds, an assist, a steal, and a block. She led her team in scoring at the half with 14 points on an efficient 7-for-11 shooting. Rose led 40-34 heading into the break.
At the back of Stewart's efforts, Mist cut the Rose lead to two, 60-58, heading into the untimed final quarter. But Mist wasn't able to overcome Rose's balanced attack. Mist also struggled from the 3-point line, hitting just two of their 11 attempts. On the flip side, Rose went 6-for-14 from downtown.
Gray delivered the gaming-sealing bucket for Rose's first win. She finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

Breanna Stewart revealed a conversation with Napheesa Collier's husband, Alex Bazzell, that started the league
On Jan. 18, Unrivaled co-founders Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier appeared in an interview on the "Boardroom" YouTube account.
The WNBA stars recalled a conversation two years ago with Collier's husband and Unrivaled President Alex Bazzell, when Bazzell proposed the idea of starting a 3-on-3 professional women's basketball league. His proposal included having Stewart and Collier as co-founders.
"I was like, this is amazing because I’ve played overseas a lot. I’ve been in China, Russia and Turkey, and now a way to really be home and be appreciated," Stewart said (Timestamp: 1:35). "The timing is also very perfect for where we are in women’s sports."
Unrivaled is now in its second week, and the fast-paced action of the games has fans and personalities talking. As Stewart said in the interview, the league has a perfect opportunity to capitalize on the rising popularity of women's basketball.
