Cheryl Reeve was born on September 20, 1966, in Gloucester County, New Jersey, U.S. She is a professional basketball coach from the United States and President of Basketball Operations for the Minnesota Lynx. She started her coaching career in 1988 at La Salle Explorers Women's Basketball Team, where she completed her bachelor’s and master's degrees. She was inducted into the La Salle Hall of Athletes in 2017.
In Reeve’s tenure as the head coach of the Minnesota Lynx, the team won the WNBA Championship in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017, in addition to the WNBA Commissioner's Cup Champion in 2024. She was the Detroit Shock’s assistant coach when they became the WNBA Champions in 2006 and 2009. Reeve was also the head coach of the WNBA All-Star Team in 2013, 2014, 2017, and 2024. She was awarded the WNBA Coach of the Year thrice in 2011, 2016, and 2020. Additionally, she was named the WNBA Basketball Executive of the Year in 2019. For the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, she is serving as the USA Women’s Basketball Team’s head coach. She additionally headed the FIBA World Cup in 2020, the Women's National Team NCAA Tour and Training Camp in 2023, and the FIBA World Cup Qualifying Tournament in 2022. She guided the gold-medal achieving, USA Women’s Basketball Team in the 2020 Olympic Games, as their assistant coach.
