Lunar Owls BC vs Rose BC was the second game of these two teams in the first season of Unrivaled. Lunar Owls had a dream debut in the 2024 campaign, taking down Mist BC in an entertaining matchup that featured the two co-founders of the league, Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart.
After a terrific ending with a big shot by Skylar Diggins-Smith, Lunar Owls entered the game keen to improve to 2-0 and send a statement to the rest of the competition. As for Rose BC, they succumbed to Vinyl on Friday night with a 79-73 score.
Led by Napheesa Collier's 31 points, the Lunar Owls won the second game of the season with a 79-70 scoreboard.

The Lunar Owls BC vs Rose BC duel started with both teams exchanging buckets until the Owls started separating from their opponents with an 11-6 lead at 5:06. After a couple of misses and turnovers, Rose BC found themselves down 13-8. Rose tried to remain close to their opponents, even returning after the Owls went on a 7-0 run and extended their lead to 21-14.
All that effort fell apart in the final seconds, as Napheesa Collier's team ended the first quarter up 29-21.
The second quarter followed the same line, with the Lunar Owls taking care of the ball and scoring consistently. They entered halftime up 49-39, looking very comfortable on the court.
Napheesa Collier entered halftime with a game-high 23 points, picking up where she left up against Mist BC.
Rose BC locked in as the third quarter started, even tying the game at 62 with 1:25 left on the clock. The Owls retook the lead and ended the third period on an 8-0 run. The winning score was set at 79, putting both teams closer to the win. That said, the Lunar Owls started the fourth quarter managing their advantage and getting closer to the victory.
Skylar Diggins-Smith tried to make the game-winning shot for a second consecutive day but was fouled while shooting. After making the free throw, Diggins-Smith called game again, sending the Lunar Owls to a 2-0 record over a team that threatened to take over the game, but was controlled every time they tried to do so.
