Angel Reese was treated to a surprise by her Rose Basketball Club teammates on Thursday. To honor Reese for landing the cover of Vogue's 2025 Winter issue, the team laid out gold balloons spelling out VOGUE in the locker room, along with cupcakes and a bouquet of roses.
Rose BC shared a video of the gesture on Instagram with the caption:
"Making sure our Vogue Rose smells her flowers. Congrats Angel Reese."
In the video, Angel Reese was all smiles as she entered the room. The group was quick to dive into some cupcakes provided for the surprise. In a fitting moment, Reese smelt a rose from the bouquet provided by her Rose teammates.
Reese took to Instagram to share the surprise with her followers.
"My teammates are so sweet. I love them," she said.
She then tagged the official Instagram page of Rose Basketball Club, which reposted Reese's story with the caption:
"Our Vogue Rose."
Rose BC are a part of Unrivaled, a new three-on-three league for players to compete in during the WNBA offseason. It was founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart and is slated to tip off on Jan. 17.
Collier and Stewart coincidentally faced off in the 2024 WNBA Finals, with Stewart's New York Liberty defeating Collier's Minnesota Lynx in five games to win their first title.
Angel Reese's Rose BC kick off Unrivaled campaign against Vinyl BC
Reese will suit up alongside fellow WNBA All-Stars Chelsea Grey of the Las Vegas Aces and Kahleah Copper of the Phoenix Mercury.
The Chicago Sky star is coming off a phenomenal campaign which saw her receive a Rookie of the Year vote and set the WNBA record for the most consecutive double-doubles with 15. She also had the highest rebound average ever recorded with 13.1.
Unfortunately for her, her rookie campaign was cut short when she sustained a hairline fracture in her left wrist and required surgery, causing her to miss the last six games of the season.
Reese is now healthy again and will look to make an impact with Rose BC when they kick off their campaign against Vinyl BC in the second game of a doubleheader on Jan. 17.
