Kate Martin Stats Today: Laces BC star hits game-winner and records double-double in Unrivaled debut (Jan. 18)

On Saturday, Kare Martin's Laces BC team opened their Unrivaled season against Sabrina Ionescu's Phantom BC. Martin came off the bench and instantly gave the Laces a spark. She made her a layup and a 3 and grabbed a rebound amid a 12-2 run, giving the Laces a game-high 23-11 lead in her first shift during the first quarter.

Martin had five points on 2 of 3 shots and one rebound, trailing Kayla McBride as among the team's leading scorers. McBride had eight points after the opening frame. Martin had a limited stint in the second quarter. She didn't score any points but added five rebounds and an assist to her first-half tally.

Martin returned to action midway through the third quarter, sharing the floor with Alyssa Thomas and Tiffany Hayes. She missed her only shot attempt in that stretch but added a rebound and another steal. Martin also committed her first turnover and foul.

She impressed in her extended third-quarter shift after scoring another layup and adding two more rebounds. Martin played the final couple of minutes with the target set for 85 points. She added the finishing touches with the game-winner and recording a double-double.

The Laces won 86-48. All five active players finished with 10+ points. The Laces shot lights out making 13 triples on 29 attempts, which decided the game.
