Cameron Brink will team up with Kelsey Plum next season after a blockbuster trade that sent the former Las Vegas Aces star to Los Angeles. The LA Sparks gave up the 2025 No. 2 pick and Li Yueru to land Plum and the No. 9 pick. Las Vegas received Jewell Loyd and the No. 13 pick, while the Seattle Storm got the package from the Sparks.

Brink went on Instagram to share her excitement about playing with Plum, writing in her Instagram story:

Brink included in the photo Rickea Jackson, who's competing in Unrivaled for Phil Handy’s Mist BC. Coincidentally, Jackson and Loyd are teammates in the 3x3 league.

The LA Sparks had a chance to bolster their roster around Cameron Brink in the 2025 WNBA draft but chose a different path. With Paige Bueckers likely going to the Dallas Wings, the Sparks wanted a proven performer.

Kelsey Plum is a two-time champ, a three-time All-Star and the 2021 Sixth Player of the Year. The No. 1 pick in the 2017 draft is fourth in Las Vegas Aces history in points (3,368), second in assists (945) and second in 3-pointers made (489). She could be the No. 1 option on offense next season for the Sparks.

Together with Rikea Jackson, Cameron Brink and Plum could form a solid foundation for new coach Lynne Roberts to count on. The Sparks, owners of the worst record in the WNBA the past two seasons, are likely to improve with their new Big 3.

Kelsey Plum and Cameron Brink aren’t playing in the Unrivaled

Kelsey Plum announced her participation in the Unrivaled before the Las Vegas Aces’ 2024 season ended. In late November, she backed out of the 3x3 tournament co-founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier. Plum explained her withdrawal:

“I’ve decided to not take part in the inaugural season of Unrivaled in order to take some more time for myself this offseason. I appreciate the league understanding and being so accommodating. I wish the league and all of the players nothing but the best, and I’m excited to watch.”

Plum joined her now teammate Cameron Brink on the sidelines for the inaugural competition. Brink continues to recover from her ACL tear despite being on the Lunar Owls BC roster. A few months later, the two will join forces to try and lead the LA Sparks back to relevance.
