Four-time WNBA champion Sue Bird took to social media to express her reaction to soccer star Sam Kerr's fiancee Kristie Mewis's joke on a "The Women's Game" live stream. The former WNBA star shared a reel uploaded by the "The Women's Game" Instagram page on her Instagram story.

She captioned the repost with two laughing emojis to express her reaction to Mewis's fumble. In the video, Kristie Mewis explained the importance of a soccer game's first 10 minutes of a half. During that time, she fumbled while saying the word 'susceptible.'

Kerr's fiancee realizes her mistake and asks if she can start over again, only to hear she is on a live stream. Kristie Mewis and the stream's host — younger sister Sam Mewis — then start to laugh at the moment, entertaining Sue Bird in the process.

Mewis herself is a professional soccer player who plays for West Ham United in the Women's Super League.

Bird's interest in soccer can be credited to her fiancee Megan Rapione, a former professional soccer player and two-time World Champion. Bird and Rapione have also started their podcast "A Touch More with Sue Bird & Megan Rapione," where the couple invites guests and talks about sports and related stories.

After the Dallas Wings won the first pick for the 2025 WNBA draft in the lottery pick, it was evident that the UConn Huskies's star player Paige Bueckers would start her WNBA journey in a Wings jersey if she entered the draft.

WNBA legend Sue Bird expressed her opinion on the scenario of Bueckers joining the Wings on an episode of her podcast "A Touch More," published on YouTube on Nov. 20. She explained that the arrival of the Huskies star would turn around the performance of last season's 9-31 team. (21:57 onwards)

"You're with some vets,” Bird said. “Arike (Ogunbowale) is on this team. I mean, talk about a backcourt. And then of course Satou Sabally… who is a free agent. But if Dallas were able to keep Satou there, I mean, right away that team becomes pretty legit."

"If Dallas does have Paige because of the No. 1 pick, Arike, who is already there, and they re-sign Satou, that big three will be up there with all the other big threes."

Bird ended her speech by praising Paige Bueckers for her crucial role in promoting Women's basketball and making it popular among the younger generation.
