Why Cameron Brink joining Lunar Owls is big?
Cameron Brink joining the Unrivaled could prove to be big for the new 3X3 league. The LA Sparks star has already shown that she is arguably the best player in the world in 3X3 basketball, if not the best. Remember when Hulk said in Endgame, "It's like ... I was made for this"? Brink is one of the Avengers of the 3X3 basketball.
Brink has the upper hand on most of the players in the league when it comes to experience in 3X3 basketball. In 2023, she helped Team USA win the FIBA World Cup in Vienna while winning the MVP Award. In 2023, Brink also participated in two FIBA 3x3 Women's Series in Montreal and Quebec.
She was also selected for the 2024 Paris Olympic 3X3 USA Team but had to withdraw her name because of her season-ending ACL injury.
If Cameron Brink is not dealing with any injury and plays healthy in Unrivaled next season, the Lunar Owls could become unbeatable. The team will have two of the league's best defenders in 2024 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Napheesa Collier and Brink, who averaged 2.3 blocks in her rookie season.
Cameron Brink is also one of the names that have helped the WNBA bring so many fans into arenas. She will carry that impact, or perhaps bigger when she steps on the court to play the game she has mastered. Moreover, what could be more exciting than Cameron Brink and Queen Phee playing on the same team and embarrassing players on defense?
