Nnemkadi Chinwe Victoria "Nneka" Ogwumike was born in Tomball, Texas, United States, on July 2, 1990. She is an American professional basketball player, as of August 2024, playing as a power forward for the Seattle Storm after signing a one-year contract with the team on February 5, 2024. She was the first overall pick by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2012 WNBA Draft.

In addition to achieving the 2012 WNBA Rookie of the Year, Nneka Ogwumike was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year in 2010 and 2012. Ogwumike was also presented with the Senior CLASS Award in 2012. She was named a McDonald's All-American in 2008, and selected for the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team in 2009. Ogwumike has been named WNBA All-Star nine times, spanning from 2013 to 2015, from 2017 to 2019, and from 2022 to 2024, as of August 2024. She won the 2016 WNBA Championship with her team, the Los Angeles Sparks, and was named the MVP. Ogwumike was also honored with a spot on the 2012 WNBA All-Rookie Team, the 2016 All-WNBA First Team, All-WNBA Second Team in 2014, 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2023, and the WNBA All-Defensive First Team from 2015 to 2017, and again in 2019. She has also played basketball overseas in Poland for CCC Polkowice and won the Polish National League in the 2012-2013 season. She also played in the 2017 EuroLeague and won the championship with her team, Dynamo Kursk.

Erica Erinma Ogwumike, a Nigerian-American basketball player, who was selected by the New York Liberty as the 26th pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft and later waived by the Minnesota Lynx after being traded by the Angeles to the Lynx.
