Nyara Sabally is a professional basketball player from Berlin, Germany. She was born on February 26, 2000, to parents Gambian father, Jerreh, and a German mother, Heike Krone. She was selected as the fifth overall pick by the New York Liberty in the 2022 WNBA draft and has been playing with them as of September 2024. Sabally played her first match in the 2023 WNBA season, and by the end of the season, she had participated in 33 games, scoring 76 points and grabbing 70 rebounds. She also won the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup in 2023.

Nyara graduated from the University of Oregon and played for the Oregon Ducks women’s basketball team, from 2018 to 2022. She played 48 games in her collegiate career, scoring 666 points and collecting 354 rebounds. Sabally was a two-time All-Pac-12 selection and was named to the Pac-12 All-Tournament team in 2022. Nyara won a gold medal for Germany in the FIBA Under-18 European Championship, where she averaged 17.3 points and 12.8 rebounds, and was named tournament's Most Valuable Player.
