Rebecca Allen is an Australian basketball player playing for Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA as of September 2024. Allen is 6 feet 2 inches. She started her basketball career at Carey Grammar School in Victoria. She began her professional career playing for the Dandenong Rangers and the Australian Institute of Sport in the WNBL. Allen’s defensive skills helped her to be awarded the WNBL Robyn Maher Defensive Player of the Year in 2014. She also represented different teams in the international league such as Good Angels Košice in Slovakia and Arka Gdynia in Poland where she proved her worth in the game.

After playing college basketball, Allen joined the New York Liberty in 2015 which was her first WNBA team. She has had her fair share of problems such as a knee injury that sidelined her for the entire season in her rookie season but she bounced back to become an important player for the Liberty. Allen also has an international career playing for the Australian national team in various FIBA World Cups and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

While serving her time with the AIS, it was seen that Allen was a good defender and could play in any position on the court. She added to this foundation when she joined the Melbourne Boomers from 2012 to 2015 where she cemented her place in the WNBL. Following some good performances, she got her chance to play in the WNBA and moved to the New York Liberty in 2015.
