Rebekkah Brunson is a former professional American basketball player, currently representing as an assistant coach for Minnesota Lynx, as of August 2024. She was born on December 11, 1981, in Washington, D.C., United States. She attended Oxon Hill High School in Maryland and graduated from Georgetown University in 2004. Brunson started her professional basketball career in the WNBA where she was chosen by the Sacramento Monarchs in the first round of the 2004 WNBA as their tenth pick. She played six seasons for the Sacramento Monarchs where her offensive rebounds gameplay helped the Monarchs to win the 2007 WNBA Championship. She later got acquired by the Minnesota Lynx in 2009 due to a dispersal draft. During her career from 2004 to 2018, she has her hands on five WNBA Championships and has participated in five WNBA All-Star Games. In 2013, she set the career mark for rebounds in the finals, with 130 rebounds breaking the record of her former teammate. She became the league’s All time rebounding leader during her time with a total of 3,356 rebounds. Brunson officially retired in February 2020 when she became the assistant coach for the Minnesota Lynx.

Internationally, Brunson played for the USA Women's Basketball Team in the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, winning a silver medal. She also played for an Italian Women's Basketball team, the Taranto Cras Basket, for the Dynamo Moscow, a Russian Women's Basketball Club, for the Nadezhda Team, a Russian team, for the Dexia Namur, a professional club in Belgium, for the Ros Casares Godella in Spain, for the USK Praha of the Czech Republic, and for the WBC Dynamo Kursk, a Russian team.
