Shakira Austin is a women's basketball player who plays for the Washington Mystics in the WNBA. She was born on July 25, 2000, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, U.S. Austin started her basketball life at Riverdale Baptist School where she played The McDonald's All-American Game in her senior year. After school, she first joined The Maryland Terrapins women's basketball team in 2018 but after her sophomore year, she shifted to the Ole Miss Rebels women's basketball where she established herself as one of the best scoring centers in the country.

In 2022 Shakira Austin was selected third overall by the Washington Mystics in the WNBA draft. She marked her presence as she made it to the WNBA All-Rookie Team in 2022. In the same year, she also joined an Israeli tram, Elitzur Ramla where she became league MVP in 2023 and won the championship in the same season.
