Suzanne Brigit Bird, often known simply as Sue Bird, is a legendary figure in women's basketball, celebrated for her extraordinary career as a point guard with the Seattle Storm. She won four WNBA championships and was selected to the WNBA All-Star team an impressive thirteen times.

Bird's impressive basketball journey began at Syosset High School, but she transferred to Christ the King Regional High School in New York. Her leadership and skill helped her team capture a New York state championship, paving the way for her to join the University of Connecticut's renowned women's basketball team, the UConn Huskies. In 2002, Bird was the first overall pick in the WNBA Draft, chosen by the Seattle Storm. Her career extended beyond the WNBA as she achieved success in the Russian league, winning five league championships and five EuroLeague titles.

In her entire WNBA career, Bird won the WNBA championship four times in 2004, 2010, 2018 and 2020.

In the 2004 WNBA championship

Final against the Connecticut Sun, when the storm made the dynamic trio of Betty Lennox, Lauren Jackson and Bird defeat the Suns in a best-of-three series. In the playoff, bird played a total of 8 games where she averaged 8.5 points, 5.2 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game.

In the 2010 WNBA championship

Final against Atlanta Dream, Road to Finals, the Storm defeated the defending champion Phoenix Mercury led by Diana Taurasi 2–0 in the Western Conference Finals. In both matches, Bird made a clutch 3-pointer to finish the game. In the final bird and her team swept out Dream with a 3-0 series result. In the playoff, bird played a total of 7 games where she averaged 12.1 points, 7.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game.

In the 2018 WNBA championship

Final against the Washington Mystics, Road to the Final, the Storm with the help of Breanna Stewart defeated Phoenix Mercury led by Diana Taurasi & Brittney Griner 3-2 in the Western Conference Finals. Where both teams won their home matches and made it to game 5, in that decided match bird scored a valuable 22 points which gave them a W. Once again bird and Co swept the Washington Mystics in the WNBA final. In the playoff, bird played a total of 8 games where she averaged 10.0 points, 6.9 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game.

In the 2020 WNBA championship

Final against the Las Vegas Aces, Road to the final, Bird and her team Storm swept the Minnesota Lynx led by Napheesa Collier in the Western Conference Finals. In the WNBA final against the Aces, Bird was very impressive with her assists part, in the Final 3 games she averaged 11 assists per game.

Sue Bird team

From joining The Seattle Storm team in 2002 as the number 1 draft pick, Bird never changed or traded to other teams. Her entire career in the WNBA she played for the Seattle Storm.

But overseas there are few teams where Bird played for some season. Starting from Dynamo Moscow in the Russian league where she played for two seasons and won one championship. In the next season in the Russian league, she shifted to another team named Spartak Moscow Region and played for 5 seasons but in the first season, she won both championships the Russian Super League and the EuroLeague Women.

Her last overseas team was UMMC Ekaterinburg in the Russian League where she played three years and won three consecutive championships.
