4 huge stipulations Triple H may bring back to WWE this year

Triple H runs WWE, and the promotion has arguably never been better. Not only is the product far better than it has been at any time in recent memory, but the sports entertainment juggernaut is doing better business than at any point in history.

Part of the appeal of this generation of the company is the excellent premium live events. With fewer matches but more time given to each bout, these shows stand out more than ever before.

Interestingly, there are far more singles matches and fewer stipulation bouts than perhaps ever before. Still, The Game seemed more than willing to book a big-gimmick match when he deemed it necessary. This goes beyond the standard yearly ones, such as the Elimination Chamber and WarGames.

This article will take a look at a few gimmick matches that haven't been booked in quite some time that Triple H could bring back before 2024 ends. This includes the brutal Hell in a Cell and others.

#4. The Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match could be booked

WWE Survivor Series is a yearly premium live event that started as a pay-per-view. The first-ever edition of the big show was held all the way back on November 26th, 1987. Survivor Series is regarded as one of the "big four" events the company holds each year.

With the debut of Survivor Series came a unique match type known as the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match, although it wasn't labeled as traditional at launch. The rules are pretty simple; typically, two teams of four or five do battle in an elimination tag team match.

In recent years, the stipulation hasn't been used in favor of WarGames. That doesn't have to be the case in November, however. WWE could have just one WarGames Match and also bring back the multi-man bout or still include it alongside two WarGames matches. Regardless, it could return in November.

#3. A Strap Match could be set up between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre

Strap Match rules are typically one of two different scenarios. One sees two wrestlers tied together by a strap, and they fight in a no-disqualification brawl. The other is similar, but instead of winning by pinfall or submission, a wrestler must hit all four ring corners in succession.

While WWE hasn't had a Strap Match or a similar variant since Cody Rhodes and Shinsuke Nakamura fought in a Bullrope Match, the gimmick could be returning soon. It might even happen as soon as Bash in Berlin.

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre introduced a strap in their brawl on WWE RAW this past Monday. This could lead to the two being tied together and able to mercilessly beat each other with a leather strap if they clash at the Germany-hosted premium live event.

#2. The Hell in a Cell Match could be held at Bad Blood

The Hell in a Cell Match is one of the most iconic gimmick bouts in the history of pro wrestling. WWE first introduced the match back in 1997 when The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels went at it in a bloody match at an In Your House pay-per-view.

Over time, the gimmick match became a themed yearly pay-per-view, which eventually changed to a premium live event on the WWE Network. Triple H stopped this once he took power, however, and now the gimmick bout is used more sparingly and in a more meaningful manner.

WWE Bad Blood is the company's next big premium live event after Bash in Berlin. Given that Bad Blood is known for having had Hell in a Cell Matches in the past, The Game could reintroduce the concept in October. While many feuds could fit the gimmick, Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan could be an inspired choice regarding who could fight inside the dangerous cage.

#1. A multi-team TLC Match could return to WWE

TLC Matches, also known as Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Matches, have been a popular stipulation in WWE dating back to the first-ever edition in 2000. The Hardy Boyz, The Dudley Boyz, and the duo of Edge and Christian fought at SummerSlam in what is recognized as an all-time classic.

Interestingly, WWE hasn't had a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match on the main roster since 2020, when Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens clashed at the TLC premium live event. The last time a tag team TLC Match was held was even further back in 2019.

That could change soon, though. There are a lot of good teams in the company who need an opportunity to show off their skills. Replicating the legendary TLC Tag Team Matches in the past, the likes of DIY, The Street Profits, and The Bloodline could fight in this car crash-style match.
