WWE Bad Blood 2024 Premium Live Event is in the history books. As the classic PLE made its long-awaited return in Atlanta, Georgia, fans are still reeling from the sheer excitement and energy of the show.
From top-to-bottom, the show delivered the ideal dose of brutal in-ring action, good storytelling, and jaw-dropping surprises. The PLE received a largely positive response from the WWE Universe, and the aftermath will certainly be intriguing.
On that note, let's look at four takeaways from Bad Blood 2024.
Former WWE writer buries Judgment Day HERE
#4. CM Punk is one of the toughest men on the planet
CM Punk has long drawn comparisons to Stone Cold Steve Austin because of his bold, vocal, and rebellious nature. As the poster boy of the Attitude Era, Austin was not afraid to bleed or destroy his opponent, with many of his matches featuring gruesome violence.
However, Punk spent much of his previous WWE tenure in the PG-Era, where the company was extra careful with the degree of violence shown on TV. Nonetheless, the Second City Saint was able to show a brutal side of himself inside Hell in a Cell.
Fans knew that CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre inside Hell in a Cell would steal the show at Bad Blood 2024. Yet, both rivals outdid themselves, putting on a strong candidate for the match of the year.
Punk was the star of the match. At 46 years of age, he took scary bumps, as McIntyre hit the former with a Suplex through a table. However, The Straight Edge Superstar was extra gruesome at Bad Blood 2024. He brutalized McIntyre's skull with a wrench and hammered him with a toolbox.
The storytelling elements were on point as McIntyre doused his rival with plastic friendship beads. Following a bloody affair, Punk defeated The Scottish Warrior with a GTS, only with the added damage of a chain wrapped around his knee.
#3. Following a huge win at Bad Blood, Damian Priest is now set to carve his path
Damian Priest had an impressive outing at Bad Blood 2024, where he defeated Finn Balor. The Archer of Infamy overcame the odds as he pinned his former Judgment Day stablemate and neutralized Carlito and JD McDonagh.
However, his friend, Rhea Ripley, did not have such an enjoyable evening as Raquel Rodriguez returned to cost her the Women's World Championship. Mami has unfinished business with Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio, but she may have to take care of them alone.
Although Priest expressed his admiration and acknowledged Ripley as his friend, The Archer of Infamy claimed that he would follow his own path in the Bad Blood 2024 Post-Show Press Conference. The win provided the former World Heavyweight Champion with a clear direction and serious momentum.
#2. Roman Reigns can be trusted
Following their storied rivalry, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns were never going to become best friends. However, they had to set aside their differences to take down The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood 2024.
Kevin Owens and Randy Orton were not convinced that The Original Tribal Chief could be trusted, but Rhodes was adamant that he made the right decision. Nonetheless, things worked out in The American Nightmare's favor.
After Jimmy Uso returned to take out Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, Reigns hit Solo Sikoa with a Spear to gain a massive victory. However, despite holding his end of the bargain, Roman proved that he could be trusted when he prevented a post-match assault on Rhodes by The Bloodline.
Therefore, Reigns can be trusted, and Rhodes made the correct decision by teaming up with the former to destroy The Bloodline.
#1. Surprises can happen at WWE PLEs in the Triple H era
Bad Blood 2024 was not advertised as the biggest event of the year. Many top stars like Seth Rollins and Gunther did not compete on the show, but the quality of surprises that were displayed during the show was befitting like Royal Rumble or WrestleMania.
Many legends attended the show, and one of them, Goldberg, almost got involved in a confrontation with Gunther. For someone who never truly retired from the wrestling business, this was a massive tease that WWE dropped.
Raquel Rodriguez appearing out of nowhere to ruin Rhea Ripley's night was also a decent plot twist. The Eradicator now has another obstacle in her path. However, the real surprises were saved for the main event.
For the first time in six months, Jimmy Uso finally returned to avenge the beatdown Solo Sikoa gave him on the fallout episode of SmackDown after WrestleMania XL. The 39-year-old star helped Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns win the massive tag team match against The Bloodline.
Nonetheless, the PLE ended on a massive cliffhanger as The Rock made a chilling return and stared down the babyface trio of Reigns, Rhodes, and Jimmy, leaving fans guessing.
