#2 Sable
Better known in 2019 as Mrs Brock Lesnar, 20 years ago, Sable was one of the biggest stars in wrestling.
Sable made her debut in WWE at Wrestlemania XII in March 1996, accompanying Triple H to the ring for his match with The Ultimate Warrior. She soon began managing her real-life husband Marc Mero before she began to overshadow him in popularity and became an important character in her own right.
Charlotte Flair to return and wrestle a CURRENT CHAMPION?
She made her in-ring debut at Wrestlemania XIV, delivering an impressive performance in a mixed tag team match, partnering with Mero versus Goldust and Luna Vachon. Later that year, the Women's Championship was re-activated, specifically as a vehicle for her. She reigned as champion from November 1998 to May 1999 when she was stripped of the belt due to contractual issues and left the company on bad terms.
Sable returned in 2003 for a short-lived run as a non-wrestling character before disappearing from the limelight completely in 2004.
Sable was not the most talented of performers inside the ring or out of it, but her popularity and star power were matched by only a few names during the most profitable period in company history. For that reason alone, she is worth her spot in the Hall of Fame. It is amazing that it has not occurred already.
